Philippine Independence Week Committee operates exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) Internal Revenue code of 1986. to help foster the advancement of the following:
1. Educational programs and activities for young children of Filipino-Americas in Chicagoland communities.
2. To support senior citizens activities of all nationalities throughout the metropolitan area.
3. To be a means of promoting health and wellness to all.
4. To support humanitarian missions in the Philippines.
5, To raise awareness throughout Chicagoland of Philippine culture and history,
Founded in 1975, PIWC has been working tirelessly to raise money so we may be a blessing to the needy as well as other charitable organizations that are doing good works both in the Chicago area and the Philippines. Our efforts throughout the years have helped house the homeless, feed the hungry, heal the sick and educate children - all while at the same time celebrating Philippine culture and Independence.
Our team is made up of dedicated individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the world. From our volunteers to our board members, everyone at PIWC is committed to our mission and the people we serve.
